One of the first walks we ever went on after moving here was to Black Pond. It was lovely then and it is still so very lovely.
The trail begins with a path that takes you to a boardwalk through the wetlands and then you pop out of the sand dunes at the beach. It feels very much like arriving at the ocean.
Brie was excited to move from the Ergo to the backpack where she can face forward and loves being carried in the backpack, but she's also excited to be at the beach and walking in the sand on her own.
We hardly ever see anyone at Black Pond and today was no exception. We had the beach to ourselves! Maddy the dog was able to burn off some energy and Brie was able to practice her walking on sand skills.
Disclaimer: In the middle of summer on really nice day, chances are pretty good you will run into other people coming to this lovely spot that is a short walk (1/4 mile) from parking lot to the beach.
Our backpack: The deuter backpack has a five-point harness system that keep the baby secure when hiking and bending with her on our back. It's light-weight and has storage capacity underneath where the baby is carried and has two pockets up high. We've loved it since we got it last summer.
